Multiple funded Ph.D. (LPMD Program), Research Assistant (RA), Graduate Assistant (GA), and SA (Student Assistant) positions are available for interdisciplinary and cross-departmental research across architecture, engineering, and emerging design-build technologies.

🔔 Application Process, Timeline, and Priority Review

Applicants are required to specify the type of position they are applying for: Ph.D., RA, GA, or SA.

For Ph.D. positions, the timeline is time-sensitive.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to:

If you have already been admitted to the LPMD Ph.D. program, please complete the application form and notify us via the email provided below.

Ph.D. applications will be reviewed on a first qualified, first considered basis, due to funding timelines.

For RA, GA, and SA positions, applications will remain open until positions are filled. However, earlier applications will receive priority consideration.

Applicants may express interest in one or more of the following projects and research focus areas:

1. Interdisciplinary Architecture and Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering Project

A cross-departmental initiative focusing

  • concrete robotic 3D printing for resilient construction and prefabricated housing, as well as:

  • Large-format additive manufacturing LFAM in Design, Architecture and Construction.

This initiative is supported through federal and industry sponsorships, and in the case of Ph.D or RA, it can be a multi-year project.

2. NSF-Funded Co-DREAM Tech Project

Focused on emerging design-build technologies, resilience, and community engagement, this project operates across several lab and research centers at TTU HOCA and TTU CECE. It includes a strong participatory and outreach component in Texas, New Mexico, and the Navajo Nation.
