Hi-DARS talk series as part of the ARCH 5654 and ARCH 5603 course.

Hi-DARS lab’s TALK SERIES

We are excited to welcome Dr. Milad Showkatbakhsh, Co-Director of the Emergent Technologies and Design Post-Graduate Programme (EmTech) at the Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture, as a guest speaker for the Hi-DARS talk series at Texas Tech University’s Huckabee College of Architecture this Fall 2024 semester. Dr. Showkatbakhsh’s work focuses on the intersection of architecture, ecology, and computational design, exploring how biological intelligence and algorithmic methods can transform urban design and digital fabrication.

Dr. Showkatbakhsh’s career spans architecture firms across Asia, the U.S.A., and Europe as a design technology specialist. His research at the AA, including his PhD on “Homeostatic Urban Morphologies,” has been widely published. As the co-founder of Wallacei, an evolutionary and analytic engine for Grasshopper 3D, he continues to push the boundaries of computational design and fabrication at an architectural and urban scale.

*This lecture is both online and in person.
