Edouard Cabay is invited as a guest speaker in Hi-DARS lab’s TALK SERIES
Hi-DARS lab’s TALK SERIES
In our integrated talk with the ARCH 5654 and ARCH 5603 courses at Texas Tech University (TTU), Huckabee College of Architecture (HCoA), we invited guest speaker Edouard Cabay to kick off the Hi-DARS talk series for the Fall 2024 semester with an online lecture on his latest research. Edouard Cabay is a Co-Director of the 3D Printing Architecture (3DPA) program and a senior faculty member at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) in Barcelona.
Edouard Cabay, a Belgian-Swiss architect based in Barcelona, has been leading the 3DPA program at IAAC, which focuses on developing innovative housing solutions using 3D-printed earth. The program aims to create non-standard building techniques by utilizing Km0 fully recyclable materials that require minimal energy. His groundbreaking work has gained recognition worldwide, winning the New European Bauhaus Prize and being showcased at international exhibitions, including the last two editions of the Venice Biennale of Architecture.
We look forward to hearing Edouard share his research and insights with our students and faculty as part of our ongoing efforts to explore cutting-edge developments in architectural practice.
*This lecture is both online and in person.
